Maintenance-2025-Pursuing-Adventure-36 1450x1450

Norse design with a soul that’s all American. Why meddle with an axe shape that has been tried and true for over a thousand years? That’s the logic designer and veteran Elmer Roush brings to the Freyr™ tactical axe. The deep beard echoes Viking style. But its balance and pure burliness boosts it into a contemporary league all its own. Shield and Viking battle cry not included.

Elmer Roush's charity of choice for this knife is the Green Beret Foundation.

Established in 2016, the Forged by War® program spearheaded a collaboration between CRKT and Veterans, inviting real life warriors to apply their knowledge and experience to design a specialty line of mission-ready knives and tools. In addition to receiving commission on their designs, a portion of the profits are donated to the Veterans’ charity of choice. CRKT is proud to offer this dedicated collection to support the participating charities on a national level.

Freyr™ Axe

Outdoor Camp Axe

Leaves less meat in the field, puts more in your freezer. This Larry Fischer-designed fixed blade hunting knife has multiple friction grooves along the spine for optimum blade control and a stylish, multi-colored G10 handle, with exceptional fit and finish. Together they serve one purpose: to get every ounce of dinner off your game. With the included high-quality sheath, you’ll be ready for deer that aren’t expecting you.

Hunt’N Fisch™ Fixed

Fixed Blade Hunting Knife

A lightweight outdoor knife with heavyweight utility. While the early American conservationist who lent the Nessmuk knife its name valued function over form, veteran knifemaker Alan Folts skillfully marries the two in the Minimalist® Nessmuk, pairing durable D2 steel with a sleek, easy-to-grip micarta handle and a versatile sheath that can be worn around the neck or easily mounted on a pack or belt. With a deep belly, strong tip, and hollow grind—the Nessmuk is a proven outdoor knife favored by the hunting, fishing, and bush crafting communities thanks to its efficient and versatile cutting abilities. The Minimalist® Nessmuk’s stylish design, comfortable grip, and do-all cutting ability will make this lightweight knife your constant companion in the great outdoors.

Minimalist® Cleaver

River knife. Rescue knife. Whatever you call it, it gets the job done. A favorite among whitewater rafters, water sports enthusiasts, and emergency response personnel, the Bear Claw™ is a compact fixed blade knife with a blunt tip, preventing point penetration and making it a safer carry—especially around rafts and inflatables. The hawkbill blade is made with corrosion-resistant steel and lined with Veff Serrations™ that deliver effortless cuts, making quick work of ropes and straps. The textured handle has a finger retention hole that makes the Bear Claw™ knife easy to hold onto in wet conditions, while the sheath comes with multiple mounting options for quick access in emergency situations—so you can focus on the task at hand.

A battle cry in axe form. Get a glance of the Berserker™ /bur-zur-kr/ Viking-style axe and you know trouble’s coming; if you’re an unsplit round, that is. The long cutting edge of the bearded axe blade is a powerful companion for big-swing jobs, fine slicing, and everything in between.
