Liong Mah of Palm Bay, Florida knows how to do right by a renowned favorite. When he set out to bring the classic Lanny’s Clip into the future, he pinpointed what needed to be preserved and exactly what called for a refresh. Stripping away the size, Liong crafted the just over 3” modified clip point blade with easy-to-sharpen high carbon stainless steel. In hand, the aluminum handle feels perfectly pocket worn.

To definitively set this one apart from the pack, Liong crafted the Lanny™ around the Assisted Opening innovation. Nudge the blade open part way and Assisted Opening activates, snapping it open at super high speed. The IKBS™ ball bearing pivot system makes for a smooth rotation and a liner lock keeps it solidly in place.

A futuristic folder you feel like you’ve been carrying for years.

How Assisted Opening Works
It's held securely closed in your pocket, but initiate the deployment, and part way through the rotation the blade open at an impressive speed for simple, powerful, one-handed opening.

If we didn’t know any better, we’d think the English definition of Mah is “practical.” After all, it’s a useful sensibility Liong incorporates into all of his designs, like the new G.S.D.™, the ever popular Eat‘N Tool®, and the 2015 Mah-chete™. As a kid, where others doodled cartoons in their school notebooks, he drew knife designs. Later, having learned CAD, he was able to bring these ideas to life by collaborating with many of the top designers in the industry.
