Field Strip Blow Apart

The Story Behind Field Strip Gen II

It’s one thing to be a great innovator. But when an innovator becomes a collaborator, that’s what becomes the fabric of legends. So when we proposed an update to Ken Onion’s original world-changing Field Strip innovation, he was all in.

Thousands around the world are using Field Strip to purge their knife of the day’s grit and grime. Still, we knew it could be better. So, after a short few years, it’s been completely reinvented. It’s more intuitive and even simpler than before. Plus, Field Strip Gen II knives feature the IKBS™ ball bearing pivot system for fast, smooth deployment. We thought the bar couldn’t get any higher. Then we raised it on ourselves.

Bona Fide™ Silver

Designed by Ken Onion in Kaneohe, Hawaii

An homage to his roots. World-renowned designer Ken Onion made Hawaii home many years ago. So, to pay tribute to his deep love of the island’s rich culture and verdant landscape, he designed the Bona Fide™ everyday carry folding knife to suggest the shape of a traditional Hawaiian waʻa, or canoe. And with Field Strip Gen II, it’s just as powerful as it looks.
