2017 CRKT® Desta™
New compact everyday carry knife is made of two simple components, but is prepped to take on thousands of tasks.
CRKT® is releasing the Desta™ everyday carry folding knife. Designed by Pat Crawford of West Memphis, Arkansas, it’s as sleek and simple as they come, but poised and ready to take on whatever chance throws in your way. The forward lock back mechanism is what sets this one ahead of the curve: when open, the tighter you grip it, the tighter the blade locks into place.
Desta translates to “joy and happiness.” Fitting—setting it into action is a pure delight. Truly, you’d expect nothing less from Crawford. He’s renowned as a pioneer in the combat folder genre, and has clearly demonstrated his expertise here. This stout, 2.5” plain-edge blade is stamped out of stainless steel, and features a rugged stonewash finish, matching the handle.
The compact, but easy-to-hold handle is perforated with small holes, giving it an industrial aesthetic and completely covers the blade while it’s not in use. It deploys with a simple thumb slot and anchors into place with a lock back safety mechanism. Confidence comes standard with the Desta™—when open, the tighter you hold the blade, the more secure it becomes, keeping your fingers safe even when you’re tackling the dirtiest jobs.
The Desta™ is one of the simplest knives ever created, and one of the most versatile. For those nostalgic for Ed Halligan’s K.I.S.S. ® the Desta™ is a true delight.
The Desta™ manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $39.99
