2017 CRKT® Carnufex™
New everyday carry knife designed with prehistoric influence for aggressive aesthetic.
CRKT® is releasing the Carnufex™ folding everyday carry knife. Designed by Flavio Ikoma of Presidente Prudente, Brazil, it’s modeled after a keystone dinosaur predator. The form influences function for this attractive, shapely folder and, fittingly, tears apart anything that gets in its way.
The prehistoric creature known by paleontologists as the Carnufex is the agile, aggressive predecessor to the alligator. This shapely, 4” plain-edge blade is stamped out of stainless steel, finished with a sleek satin finish, and raring to rip into anything that stands in your way.
The ergonomic handle is where the reptilian aesthetic comes into play—the stainless steel stonewash handle is set with a glass reinforced nylon inlay that almost looks ready to strike. The sturdy frame lock provides confidence while the blade is open and in use, and a narrow thumb slot assists blade deployment. We’ve given it an IKBS™ ball bearing pivot system because what else could possibly do justice to a dinosaur who was defined by it’s deadly striking speed?
Flavio Ikoma let his imagination run wild with this one and ended up with a masterpiece. It’s a head-turning, capable everyday carry that’s as good-looking as it is dangerously capable.
The Carnufex™, in Latin, translates to butcher. Put anything in its way, and watch it mow straight through.
The Carnufex™ manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $79.99
