Usage and Safety

Take care of your tools and they will take care of you for a lifetime.

Your knife is designed to be a workhorse. It’s not, however, designed to be a crowbar, a screwdriver, or a hammer.

True, our knives are designed conscious of the fact that those who buy CRKT® don’t tiptoe around a filthy job, or one that requires some creativity to get it done. But when it comes to knives or cutting tools, misuse is one of the most common causes for failure. No matter how well your knife is built, pushing it beyond its limit is sure to end with malfunction or injury.

Keep that in mind the next time you cut corners with maintenance or apply a tool to a task it wasn’t built for. In the long run, it’s not worth the time or effort you save.

Proper Uses

The knives we make are designed to cut. Simple as that. Pounding, prying, hacking, turning screws, or any other conceivable misuses of your CRKT® knife could result in irreparable knife damage or injury to you, plus, it’ll likely void the CRKT® limited lifetime warranty.

That said, your knife is designed to be a workhorse. CRKT® knives like to play dirty and get into whatever grime, blood, and filth you find yourself dealing with during a busy day. Cutting edges and moving parts are particularly susceptible to breakdown and a little preventative maintenance goes a long way.
