BIG EDDY™
Designed by Russ Kommer in Fargo, North Dakota
World famous hunting and fishing guide Russ Kommer designed the BIG EDDY™ fillet knife series. These fillet knives feature what Russ calls his Dual Grind™ blade. A high hollow grind on the right (top) side of the blade creates an air pocket to “lift” the fillet, while the left (bottom) side of the blade is taper ground, so it slides against the skin without digging. The sheath features an injection molded scoop to easily clean out the blood line. You hold in your hand a breakthrough innovation in fillet knives.

Innovation that takes your catch from the water to the frying pan in record time. This fishing knife will transform your tackle box forever. Designed by Alaska fishing guide, Russ Kommer, this blade breaks the mold for traditional fillet knife design. Most fillet knives rely on a symmetrical blade grind for cutting, but what Russ did was apply a hollow grind ton the topside and a flat grind on the bottom. This makes your fish fillets lift and float off the topside while the bottom side is gliding and not digging into the skin. The Triple-Point ™ serrations make quick work of bones, fins and gristle. The glass filled nylon handle is grippy and ergonomic. A glass filled nylon sheath keeps the blade safe in your tackle box.

To say Russ is an outdoorsman is a bit of an understatement. A professional fishing and hunting guide, he started making knives when one of his clients brought him a custom knife and dressed an entire moose—without sharpening it. Since then he’s made it his duty to build the kind of tools only he would use. It just so happens his Bear Claw’s™, and Hoist’N Lok®, are the kinds other hunters use as well.
