Tom Stokes

Tom Stokes is an experienced mechanical engineer from Virginia who has worked in the aerospace industry for 20 years. He is a pioneer in the use of CAD (computer aided design) and has used high-end CAD software for 15 years. He has always been inventive and has been involved in many creative and interesting design projects such as ornithopter design (flapping wing aircraft), wind tunnel research, and technical animation projects. Tom comes from a family with artistic talent, and that shows in all of his designs. His designs display a rare combination of high technology and art. Tom has been involved in the knife and tool industry for over 10 years. Working closely with Launce Barber, he has been instrumental in conceptualizing, designing, and engineering the tools seen in the CRKT I.D. Works line. including the Guppie series, Zilla-Tool series, Lumabiner and Get-A-Way Driver. Because of the sensitive nature of Tom’s engineering practice, he has declined to provide a photograph of himself.
