I really like this knife. bought it for every day carry as self defense tool and for miscellaneous tasks. glad crkt changed the handle from zytel to glass filled nylon, which is probably not as good as g10, but definitely offers a secure grip deploys easily. it can be delicately placed in dress pants pocket without tearing it up like g10. I am waiting for winter to see if it deploys reliably and quickly with cold, dry hands, but i feel confident. I had to sharpen the blade as it came pretty dull out of the box. I believe i reshaped the angle to a steeper angle, but it shaves hair now. i tightened up the bolt the blade pivots on to eliminate the tiny bit of side to side play it had. The knife feels solid and i'm sure will function well if called upon. Good knife at $100

If this were a full auto. Wow. I played with the spring tension but at the end of the day it was too stiff to open. I would have kept it but the auto lawks was not right. CRKT customer service was great offering help but too much money for something almost just right. The baby bro Heiho is perfect I'm waiting for the serrated version to come out. That's how the hissatu should work. A small rework of the relief in the handle bigger thumb disc different spring would make this a must have. Please make it work as well as the M16 m21 knives. Make a flipper version of this baby that woul be the bomb.

I own a lot of knives, made by just about every company you can think of. This one is my forth CRKT.
Not being a fan of assisted or automated knives(not to mention a lot of states are starting to outlaw them), I went with the non-assisted version. I have had no trouble opening it.
I like the blade, overall, and the handle material.
The handle is over-sized for this knife. I wouldn't mind this if that size was providing a better more ergonomic grip, but it is not. The rear of the handle is open, which seems to be a standard for CRKT knives, which I'm not a fan of. And there is no place set for me to position my thumb on the rear of the handle, which is my biggest complaint for this piece.

just bought this knife. i wanted a offensive folder and watched all the videos on the reason behind the blade shape and i had to get it, the handle fits your hand great and the out burst assist is the fastest on the market( i also bought a S.O.G. auto assist the same week and was totally disappointed with the speed and power of their assist mechanism) CRKT is the best on the market hands down plus the auto lawks is the best safety i have ever used that's why i have 5 different crkts' and will never switch agin. Don't forget the AUS8 blade by far the best all around steel being used these days.. a great buy

I got two for xmas, one for me and for a buddy. What a wicked knife, fast to open, extremely sharp and well made. I have over 50 different CKRT Knives. All of them a great knife. At first, the Hissatsu, for the first few times you would might say " a little hard to open" but after that no problem. The Hissatsu opens differently then all others CRKT, that may be why must of these posts are talking about. Mr Williams designed and built a great tatical knife which is unconventical to the "standard tatical knife". If you understand knife making and the history of knife blades, specialy for tatical use. The Hissatsu is not a KBAR, which is a fine knife, but look at the Hissatsu has more history in design and use. A far superior design use for todays urban tatical use. Hissatsu great knife

I BOUGHT A HISSATSU FOLDER ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO. IT'S GREAT AND STURDY FOLDING KNIFE, AND MAKES MOST OF MY FRIEND'S KNIFES LOOK LIKE JUNK. IT'S ALL BUSINESS

This is not a "Tatical" knife allthe opening stress is on a specific point on the thumb. I recently had a burn on the finger tips and working with ths knife was very painful - give it to Kit Carson, he will perfect it. Thumbs down not worth the pain.

Only you are responsible for your families safety and your own safety. To do this you n ***CRKT RESPONSE CRKT Takes personal safety very seriously. It is the primary reason why we designed the AutoLAWKS system. When both of the locks are engaged (the liner and the AutoLAWKS) the knife becomes a virtual fixed blade. I have bought two Hissatsu Folders and I have been very pleased with them. I found the 'Outburst Assist' allows me to be ready for anything almost instantly. and after some practice (and the knife loosening up a bit) I can open and close the knife one handed quickly and efficiently.
This is an excellent knife for the money and I would recommended it to anyone who needs a reliable tactical folding knife.
