The CRKT Zilla-Tool™ is named a 2009 Camping Life Editors' Choice award winner.

Columbia River Knife & Tool is proud to announce that its patented* Zilla-Tool has been named a 2009 Camping Life Editor's Choice award winner.

Magazine editor Stuart Bourdon says, "Camping Life Magazine was started in 1998, and we began our Editors' Choice Awards in 2002 as a way to help focus our readership's (family campers) purchasing power and attention on products that were best suited for the family camping lifestyle."

"We define our readership as the millions of active camping families who typically stay in National, State or Regional Parks, Forest Service or BLM campgrounds, and who are camping in tents, truck campers or lightweight travel trailers, and engaging in outdoor activities such as day-hiking, fishing, bicycling, canoeing, kayaking, and wildlife photography and observation, during their camping adventures."

"Hundreds of new outdoor products are flooding the catalogs and retail shops, with more brands and a wider selection of goods available than ever before. From among this torrent of new equipment, we've selected a few choice pieces. There are plenty of great new products out there, but each piece of gear we highlight here is in some way relevant to the family camping lifestyle, and is fresh, different, better, or just incredibly useful. These qualities have made them our 2009 Camping Life Editors' Choice award winners."

About the CRKT Zilla-Tool™ the magazine says: "It delivers just the right basics: pliers with a wire cutter/stripper, combination serrated blade, screwdriver hex bits, and a bottle opener. The Zilla-Tool's single plier lever is spring-loaded for easy release, and this tool doesn't have to be unfolded before the pliers can be used. Its 3-inch spear point high-carbon stainless steel combination serrated blade opens quickly, with the assistance of a "flipper" that also acts as a guard when open...."

The Zilla-Tool™ was designed by Launce Barber and Tom Stokes as part of our I.D. Works™ line of innovative multitools, and we call it "the monster tool." It is a hefty, ergonomically designed work tool. The handle is 6.5 inches long, and it has a 3.0" knife blade. Weight is 7.4 ounces.

The user can store the two screwdriver hex bits in molded handle reliefs. They are easily stored and removed by a press of the thumb. The Zilla-Tool also accepts other standard hex bits.

The custom stainless steel clip will hold the Zilla-Tool in your pocket or on gear. We have also provided a black nylon carry-pouch sheath, with a belt loop and snap closure, for those who prefer belt carry.

The Zilla-Tool can also open bottles and cans using the pliers jaws, or prying with the end of the pliers handle.

Two Zilla-Tool models are available. The standard model 9060 has a bead-blast finished blade, frame and pliers with black injection-molded scales. For those who prefer the tactical look, our model 9060K is black-on-black throughout.

Yes, the Zilla-Tool name suggests a monster, and we think it is going to be a dominant force in the multi-tool field, not only because of its unique design and combination of features, but because of its MSRP of only $44.99.

Zilla-Tool models are available in retail clampacks as the 9060C and 9060KC.
