When a series like Kit Carson's aluminum-handled line has been so successful, it is bound to spark calls for variations. In this case, the request was for a deep-bellied spear point blade with recurve. We call the smaller M21-02 and M21-12 models "Little Bulldogs."
The swedged and recurved blade is ground to a spear point shape, using premium AUS 8 stainless steel in non-reflective frost finish to offer superior edge retention. The grind incorporates a false top edge and deep belly, yet retains a full width central spine for most of its length for maximum strength. We offer both Razor-Sharp and Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point™ Serrated edge grinds.
Lubrous washers at the blade pivot assure velvety-smooth one-hand opening and closing, using Kit Carson's trademark dual checkered thumb studs which also act as a blade stop.
M21™ models feature the very popular "Carson Flipper" blade extension, which aids opening and acts as an additional blade guard.
Kit Carson's open build uses contoured handles of 6061 T6 aluminum, hard anodized charcoal gray. They are CNC machined with a perimeter radius for a comfortable grip with or without work gloves, skeletonized to reduce weight. There is a single stainless steel locking liner with friction grooves for positive locking.
We have also incorporated our patented* AutoLAWKS™ automatic knife safety into all M21 models, which converts them into virtual fixed blades when their blades are open and locked.
Every model features a removable stainless steel clothing/gear clip. All fasteners, including the clip screws, are Torx®.

Awesome knife I bought one in Afghanistan over a year ago and lost it today so I had to buy one again, and ill keep buying them for a long time.

Best knife ive ever bought. Stays sharp and once it does finally loose its edge a few quick run throughs on a quick sharpener and then a extra smooth wet stone and its back to new.. Love love love this knife. Love CRKT

This is a great folder that is simple and tough. I use it as my "work" knife because it is easy to clean due to the fairly open handle design. The flipper makes opening this knife fast and easy and has caused me to dislike any knives that don't offer this feature. The large belly of the knife makes it great for slicing and perfect for everything around the house.

I got this knife as a replacement for one that I had a problem with the service was great and this knife is very tuff and sharp I've even been looking for extra stuff to cut just to see how long it holds an edge. I would recomend this M21 to anyone who uses a knife often. I give it two thumbs up.

This is the best large knife I own. The grind makes it easy to sharpen, and the great steel holds the edge for a long time. This knife is like a tank in your hand. Hardworking, strong, reliable, yet due to its slim handle, not cumbersome.
