In the process of developing our line of Carson special forces G10 M21™ models, it became apparent that there was a demand for these models from coalition forces serving in desert environments. These models have Desert Tan blade and scales.
The M21-14DSFG Big Dog G10 is our hefty utility version, with a 3.875" (98 mm) deep-bellied blade and full-size handle with butt pommel. It weighs 5.5 oz. (156 g).
Just like its black tactical counterpart, this knife shares a unique design offering a combination of Carson SF series features requested by military procurement specialists. It has a combined Razor-Sharp and patented (1) Veff™ Serrated edge. The open build allows two Carson Flippers to be incorporated, resulting in a true hilt up to now rare in folding knives.
Blade and scales are non-reflective Desert Tan. The premium 8Cr14MoV stainless steel blade receives a titanium nitride coating for maximum corrosion resistance. Kit's trademark dual checkered thumb studs are standard. One-hand opening and closing is quick and smooth.
The open InterFrame build uses Desert Tan scales of G10, and stainless steel liners with friction grooves. G10 is often preferred for its aggressive gripping texture, light weight, and the insulating properties which make it cooler in heat and warmer in cold than metal.
It also features our exclusive patented (2) AutoLAWKS™ safety, which automatically turns the folder into a fixed blade when the blade is opened and locked.
All knives in this series are equipped with clip options that allow four-position carry on belts or webbing tip up, tip down, left or right. (Caution: These knives are not designed for tip-up in-pocket carry.)
They are special knives, designed by the military for special forces desert use. 1. U.S. Patent No. D559,939
2. U.S. Patent Nos. 5,596,808 and 7,437,822
One of their best designs. I'm really happy with the sharpness, feel, and overall look. This is now my sixth knife thru CRKT and they never dissapoint. Still plan to order another one soon I'm sure. Keep up the great work guys

This is an outstanding knife. Really good for most tasks, sharp, heavy blade and Veff serrations make it outstanding for heavy cutting tasks. It is one of my EDC knives and has an outstanding profile for self protection. As usual, the quality, construction and general profile make it one of my favorites.

This is a great folding tactical knife. Lockup is strong, the grip is hand-filling and the blade is heavy enough to work with. The fact that it comes out of the box razor sharp is a nice bonus.

Just like the other reviews, this knife is rather large. The Veff serrations are phenomenal and are razor sharp. For me I use this as an EDC knife and its plenty of blade to get the job done. The double flipper is rather strange to get used to but it does help in closing the blade. It is slightly on the heavy side but it definitely dosent feel flimsy. The only true complaint so far is that the liner lock is very small in comparison to the blade and it is hard to close one handed due to that. Furthermore it is very difficult to close with gloves on unless they are very fitted around your thumb. Over all 5 stars, this is my second CRKT knife and I will defiantly be purchasing a N.E.C.K. knife soon. This product is perfect for everyday knife needs. Buy this product

The size of this knife really surprised me when I took it out of the box. It was much bigger than I expected and bothered me at first. I received this knife a week before going into the field for an extended period of time and thought there was no better way to break this knife in than that. I used it for everything from cutting MRE's open to slicing through laminate sheets to use for overlays. It has maintained it's sharp edge and hopefully will do so for the coming years. Good investment, well worth it.

The picture doesn't do justice to the size of this knife, it is a very large folder. The weight is good for the size, not overwhelming. The serrations are super sharp, already cut myself. I love it.
