M1602Z description
For years, Kit Carson's M16® designs have been our most popular series. And our Z version has built the largest user base of all. These knives are built for function, not fad. And they are exceptional values.

The M16®-02Z and M16®-12Z are tough little bulldogs, with 3.00" dual grind Tanto-style blades.

They use our very successful InterFrame construction, tough, textured glass filled nylon scales over a 420J2 stainless steel liner InterFrame. We overbuild it for rigidity, using solid glass filled nylon back spacers. And we assemble the handle with superior offset Torx® fasteners. The handle is exceptionally rigid and fills the hand perfectly.

We use our tough AUS 8 high-carbon stainless steel for the blades to give greater everyday utility, and offer both Razor-Sharp and Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point Serrated edges.

All models feature the Carson Flipper, which is not only an aid to opening the blade, especially when wearing gloves, but acts as a blade guard when the blade is open.

This knife also features our automated liner safety innovation which automatically sets a pin between the locking liner and the frame. This pin acts as an additional layer of safety, so the locking liner is less likely to disengage during use. To close the knife, pull the red button lever back, slide the locking liner over, and fold the blade into the closed position.

All styles have lubrous washers and a removable stainless steel clothing/gear clip.

Think of the M16-Z as a Clydesdale—ready to rush a knight into battle or pull a beer wagon. Every day. Day after day.

Received one of these as a gift years ago as a gift. Used and abused it for everything, even opened cans with it on occasion. It never failed, stayed sharp, and was my most favorite pocket knife of all time until I lost it on the side of a mountain in North Carolina. Wish I could afford a new one Whoever finds it one day will be a lucky individual indeed

I ordered the M16-02Z as the proud former owner/abuser of it's (in '06) smaller brother, the M16-01Z EDC. I did EVERYTHING with that knife. In fact, I took it to BELIZE on a missionary assignment and used it to open cement, slice fruit, whittle tree limbs into stakes, cut rope, peel sugarcane, YOU NAME IT I could NOT find something that knife would NOT do Dad bought the M21 G10 because he was so impressed with my M16-01 Replacement clip and screws in '12 were FREE I lost that knife in Dec '13 and bought this one to replace it. It seems 25% bigger and $30 more expensive than I remember, but you have a LOYAL customer My only issue is M16 EDC's don't come with Veff Serrations Boo... Anyhow... Buy an M16, use it for everything, find it nigh-impossible to kill, love it for LIFE

Great knife, however the pocket clip should be on the back end, how do I re-position since the screws are so small? - CRKT - The screws are a #5 or #6 torx. you can purchase a Torx tool at most home improvement stores.
