At the request of those in the emergency services field, we have modified
one of our most successful designs for these rugged applications.
Handles have scales of tough glass filled nylon in high-visibility orange. We have
chosen tough blade steels to withstand abuse, and gave the M16-14ZER a polished
finish to resist corrosion. Finally, we have priced it to be as
affordable as possible.
M16®-14Z E.R. New this year is the "Big Dog" M16. At the request of
rescue professionals, we've taken Kit Carson's popular M16-14 and added a seat
belt cutter to the flipper and a tungsten carbide window breaker to the butt.
Automobile side windows shatter with one quick whack from the butt of the
knife. This hefty 6.2-ounce knife features our automated liner safety innovation. It automatically sets a pin between the locking liner and the frame. This pin acts as an additional layer of safety, so the locking liner is less likely to disengage during use. To close the knife, pull the red button lever back, slide the locking liner over, and fold the blade into the closed position.
It has a large 3.75"-long Triple-Point Combination
Serrated Tanto blade that is able to tackle nearly any emergency task.
If you're a rescue professional, we think the M16-14ZER is the best value available
for daily duty carry.
I love this knife for all the same reasons others have mentioned. A big problem I have had, though, is that the seat belt cutter has accidentally cut through my belt/knife loop (whatever) just during normal wear/carry using the clip. I haven't conceived a reasonable cludge to avoid this problem.
