Kit Carson, designer of the M16® Series, became famous for his titanium frame M16 customs. True to Kit's custom design in all details, the production M16T models have been taken a step further with the addition of our automated liner safety innovation. It automatically sets a pin between the locking liner and the frame. This pin acts as an additional layer of safety, so the locking liner is less likely to disengage during use. To close the knife, pull the red button lever back, slide the locking liner over, and fold the blade into the closed position.
.
The handles, which form the open-build frame, are CNC machined from titanium. The result is a better strength-to-weight ratio than steel or aluminum, and an almost indestructible frame. The titanium frame is minimally ceramic bead-blast finished to enhance grip. The single 420J2 stainless steel locking liner with friction grooves provides positive locking.
The blade is AUS 8 stainless steel, chosen for edge retention and durability, in non-reflective fine bead blast finish, with a Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point™ Serrated edge. This steel can handle the most rugged cutting tasks and still be field sharpened.
Of course, it also features the signature "Carson Flipper" extension to the blade, which aids opening and acts as an additional blade guard.
The "Big Dog" M16®-14T is a hefty, full-size working knife with a dual grind modified Tanto-style blade.
One-hand opening and closing is quick and smooth, the result of lubrous washers at the blade pivot. The ambidextrous thumb stud with checkered surface provides instant access in any circumstance. It features a removable stainless steel clothing/gear clip.
Faithful replicas. Premium quality. Precise. Smooth. Amazing value for those who want the ultimate M16. Kit Carson still marvels at how well our production titaniums compare to his customs.
Little big for every-day carry but an excellent knife. Just got to remember to check lengths next time

I bought this knife almost 10 years ago while in the Air Force. I have used in every environment and it has never failed me. As with any fine tool, you have to keep it sharpened and clean. It looks almost as new a the day I bought it at the base. I have 38 years in both the Army and Air Force. I own many knives. When I deploy, (city or field) I always bring this knife with me.

Love the knife. My son who is in law enforcement has the same knife and has used it for 8 years with no issues. would consider buying other CRKT items.

I had purchased this knife as a replacement for my M16-14-Special-Forces-Tanto knife. I had that one for almost 2.5 years with only a small amount of rust forming on the screw that held the blade onto the handle. Now with this knife, after approximately three weeks I ALREADY have rust forming all along the blade. My use and edc carry is NO different now than before. Maybe I got a lemon knife, maybe all of them are bad, regardless I have nothing but regrets in purchasing this knife especially for the huge amount if money spent (in my opinion). I highly doubt that CRKT will do anything to remedy this, but the gauntlet has been laid down. I hope they make the right decision. - CRKT Response - Requested Customer to return the knife for a replacement.

I have 16 CRKT knives and I am very satisfied with the quality and workmanship of CRKT knives. The first CRKT knife I purchased was the Komodo which has been discontinued. I purchased a M16-14 about 20 years ago. I lost that knife a couple years ago and I have just purchased the M16-14T and I am very happy to have the M16 in my pocket again. I am a knife guy and I have over 100 knives. I would recommend CRKT to anyone starting a knife collection. I have also proudly given CRKT knives as gifts. I am a very satisfied CRKT customer.
