M16-14ZSF description
The service men and women of the coalition forces in the Middle East and Afghanistan require cutting tools that can stand up to the harsh demands of the desert. Our Carson Desert Tactical Folders have been developed specifically to blend into the desert environment.

Our M16®-14ZSFmodel features our super rigid InterFrame build with 420J2 stainless steel liners, threaded stainless steel back spacers, and Desert Camo pattern glass filled nylon scales. The blade is a non-reflective bead-blast finished AUS 8 stainless steel. It blends and almost disappears in the desert.

Our tactical SF model features two Carson Flippers, resulting in a true hilt when the blade is opened. Our Big Dog glass filled nylon version has a 3.875" (98 mm) blade and full-size handle with a pommel which is exceptionally powerful in tactical situations. Weight is a hefty 6.3 oz. (179 g).

It features our exclusive patented* AutoLAWKS safety, which automatically turns the folder into a fixed blade when the blade is opened and locked.

One-hand opening and closing is quick and smooth, the result of precision tolerances and lubrous washers at the blade pivot. The dual ambidextrous thumb studs with checkered surfaces provide instant access in any circumstance.

The blade has Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point Serrated edges.

*U.S. Patent Nos. 5,596,808 and 7,437,822

This is one of the best knives I've ever had. It exceeds my expectations. It is just a great strong, and durable knife. Great for tactical use or outdoor use like camping, hunting and survival.

I received this knife as a gift from a friend in 04-05, and I love it. It's by far my most favorite knife and I carry it all the time. It's very versatile and is fairly lightweight yet very solid and sturdy in your hand. It's the best knife I've ever owned.

I'm looking for the screws that bottom of the knife. I left mine in my pants pockets and I heard it banging around in the dryer, when I pulled it out the screws had snapped. How do I get replacement screws? CRKT Parts are available at no cost to our customers here - http://www.crkt.com/replacementparts

I carried this knife for roughly one year in environments of every imaginable sort from swamps to moon dust and snow. It functioned very well over all however, I did find 2 flaws the belt clip is very weak and once its bent theres no hope of it ever working properly again. The second flaw I found is no matter how often you clean or oil this knife rust is inevitable. Now to end on a good note the blade itself is spectacular at holding an edge, the weight is comfortable, and the speed and smoothness of which the blade can be deployed is just as amazing.

Just picked this up for my son who is also going to Afghanistan as a lance cpl in the Marines. I have seen many others who did the same for their fighting sons. He was glad to have one and will put it to great use, he was excited to have one of these, their reputation for quality is well known. Thanks for producing a great knife Thanks to all of you service men and women keeping us free.

This knife is great, the only issue I’ve had is with the clip piece. The first thing is the clip can be easily bent back, losing it ability to stay were you put it, in my case in my pocket. The second thing is unless you have the correct Torx tip to remove the attaching screws and bend it back so it has some clamping force.
