M16-14ZSF description
The service men and women of the coalition forces in the Middle East and Afghanistan require cutting tools that can stand up to the harsh demands of the desert. Our Carson Desert Tactical Folders have been developed specifically to blend into the desert environment.

Our M16®-14ZSFmodel features our super rigid InterFrame build with 420J2 stainless steel liners, threaded stainless steel back spacers, and Desert Camo pattern glass filled nylon scales. The blade is a non-reflective bead-blast finished AUS 8 stainless steel. It blends and almost disappears in the desert.

Our tactical SF model features two Carson Flippers, resulting in a true hilt when the blade is opened. Our Big Dog glass filled nylon version has a 3.875" (98 mm) blade and full-size handle with a pommel which is exceptionally powerful in tactical situations. Weight is a hefty 6.3 oz. (179 g).

It features our exclusive patented* AutoLAWKS, the Lake and Walker Knife Safety innovation taken to the next level. AutoLAWKS automatically sets a pin between the locking liner and the frame. This pin acts as an additional layer of safety, so the locking liner is less likely to disengage during use. To close the knife, pull the AutoLAWKS red button lever back, slide the locking liner over, and fold the blade into the closed position..

One-hand opening and closing is quick and smooth, the result of precision tolerances and lubrous washers at the blade pivot. The dual ambidextrous thumb studs with checkered surfaces provide instant access in any circumstance.

The blade has Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point Serrated edges.

*U.S. Patent Nos. 5,596,808 and 7,437,822

I've used this knife since my first deployment to Iraq in 2005, and love it. This knife has taken me through two combat tours and countless EDC situations, I recommend this knife to everyone I know. I do wish I could get a new belt clip. - CRKT Response - There is a parts request page on our website that you can order this part for your knife.

I've owned this knife for about 2 years now and it has easily become one of my favorite pocket knives. unlike what most people think calling it weak this knife was actually able to chop down trees with just a little bit of blade play which I've been able to fix. it's what I call an EDC plus meaning its good in pocket and great in hand. definitely suggested by me.

I bought this knife in 2009 while stationed in Germany. I didn't know the brand, nor many others, for that matter, and being a cook, I wasn't expected to be up to speed on these things. I just needed a knife, and it looked like a nice solid one. I still have that knife, here it is, 2015, and it still holds a razor edge, despite the absolute abuse I put this thing through, which includes a full year in the snow and rain, as well as being used as a screwdriver, a wedge, and a grill scraper. This is easily the best knife I've ever owned.

As a veteran and current federal firefighter, I know the importance of having a well built knife on your person. This knife is very easy to fully operate with one hand, since it always seems like you need to use it while you have your hands full. I recommend this knife to anyone that works hard and needs a knife to do the same, take care of it and it will take care of you. 5 out of 5 all day

This is one of the best knives I've ever had. It exceeds my expectations. It is just a great strong, and durable knife. Great for tactical use or outdoor use like camping, hunting and survival.

I received this knife as a gift from a friend in 04-05, and I love it. It's by far my most favorite knife and I carry it all the time. It's very versatile and is fairly lightweight yet very solid and sturdy in your hand. It's the best knife I've ever owned.

I'm looking for the screws that bottom of the knife. I left mine in my pants pockets and I heard it banging around in the dryer, when I pulled it out the screws had snapped. How do I get replacement screws? CRKT Parts are available at no cost to our customers here - http://www.crkt.com/replacementparts

I carried this knife for roughly one year in environments of every imaginable sort from swamps to moon dust and snow. It functioned very well over all however, I did find 2 flaws the belt clip is very weak and once its bent theres no hope of it ever working properly again. The second flaw I found is no matter how often you clean or oil this knife rust is inevitable. Now to end on a good note the blade itself is spectacular at holding an edge, the weight is comfortable, and the speed and smoothness of which the blade can be deployed is just as amazing.
