(M16-14SF) M16-14SF - Tanto - Designed by Kit Carson
M16-14SF description
Our aluminum InterFrame build SF folders share a unique design offering a combination of Carson M16 Series features requested by military procurement specialists. The dual grind Tanto blades were specified because they offer maximum strength. The open build allows two Carson Flippers to be incorporated, resulting in a true hilt— very rare in folding knives.

The M16®-14SF Big Dog Aluminum is our hefty utility version, with a 3.875" (98 mm) dual grind Tanto blade and full-size handle with butt pommel.

Blade, frame and hardware are non-reflective tactical black. The blade receives a black titanium nitride coating for maximum corrosion resistance. Kit's trademark dual checkered thumb studs are standard. One-hand opening and closing is quick and smooth.

It features our exclusive patented (1) AutoLAWKS automatic safety, which turns the folder into a virtual fixed blade automatically.

Our aluminum frame SF features contoured scales of hard anodized 6061 T6 aluminum, with a perimeter radius for a comfortable grip with or without gloves, stainless steel liners with friction grooves, and a premium AUS 8 stainless steel blade. The Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point Serrated edge is standard.

All knives in this series are equipped with clip options that allow four-position carry on belts or webbing. Caution: These knives are not designed for tip-up in-pocket carry. They are special knives, designed by the military for special forces use.

1. U.S. Patent Nos. 5,596,808 and 7,437,822

This knife is amazing It has THE best opening method I have ever seen. So much so that I have to fight myself from opening it in public because of the intimidation factor. This is my first CRKT knife and it will NOT be my last to say the very least. This knife is the sole reason that put me into the planning phase to take an edged-weapons class. If you saw me deploy this knife you'd think twice about approaching me-until you know the true me.

I purchased this knife, appreciated it sooo much, I bought my son one. It is beautifully balanced, the mechanism is so smooth as to be unbelievable. The fit and finish is all CRKT I blame my father for starting me on CRKT, he gave me a P.E.C.K. by Ed Halligan key chain folder that I have had for 10 (?) years. Still so impressed with CRKT that I ordered a Zilla-Tool, a Zilla-Tool Jr, for my grandsons, and a Kommer Fulcrum ( in Pink ) for my daughter-in-law. I'm CRKT all the way. I've had the M16-13SF for a few years now, excellent knife. Wanted the larger blade so I purchased the 14SF. As always, quality is outstanding with the 14SF. These are the only knifes I will use or carry.

Absolutely lives up to the description. I have had the weapon for over a year now and have not regretted the purchase once. I'm not kind on my knives and have put this knife through hell and back multiple times. And even with minimal sharpening and care it is still sharp, and undamaged. It has been through dirt and sand, and even underwater yet it remains perfectly functional. And lastly the claim "It features our exclusive patented (1) AutoLAWKS™ automatic safety, which turns the folder into a virtual fixed blade automatically." is why I bought this knife, and I must say that it FULLY lives up the description of a 'virtual fixed blade' I feel fully secure that it will only close when I want it closed. And yet it can be opened with the slightest twitch of the wrist at a moments no
