M16-14SF description
Our aluminum InterFrame build SF folders share a unique design offering a combination of Carson M16 Series features requested by military procurement specialists. The dual grind Tanto blades were specified because they offer maximum strength. The open build allows two Carson Flippers to be incorporated, resulting in a true hilt— very rare in folding knives.

The M16®-14SF Big Dog Aluminum is our hefty utility version, with a 3.875" (98 mm) dual grind Tanto blade and full-size handle with butt pommel.

Blade, frame and hardware are non-reflective tactical black. The blade receives a black titanium nitride coating for maximum corrosion resistance. Kit's trademark dual checkered thumb studs are standard. One-hand opening and closing is quick and smooth.

It features our exclusive patented (1) AutoLAWKS automatic safety, which turns the folder into a virtual fixed blade automatically.

Our aluminum frame SF features contoured scales of hard anodized 6061 T6 aluminum, with a perimeter radius for a comfortable grip with or without gloves, stainless steel liners with friction grooves, and a premium AUS 8 stainless steel blade. The Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point Serrated edge is standard.

All knives in this series are equipped with clip options that allow four-position carry on belts or webbing. Caution: These knives are not designed for tip-up in-pocket carry. They are special knives, designed by the military for special forces use.

1. U.S. Patent Nos. 5,596,808 and 7,437,822

I just received my M16-14SF today, and I must say that it is the best knife that I have come across. It is made of top notch material, and it seems to be a perfect balance for an everyday use kind of knife. I have served in the military for 4 years, hunted most of my life, and had quite a few knives throughout this time. However, I have not had a knife like this one. It is a must for any knife owner :) Kevin

Fantastic knife fits great in your hand if you have larger than average hands. The quality of this knife is also unbelievable.

I am most pleased with my purchase of this fine knife. It hasn't let me down and instills a good bit of confidence just by having it in your pocket. Keep up the good work and keep the quality up there. Loyal customers are willing to pay for the real thing.

I have had this knife (M16-14SF) for almost 7 years. It has accompanied me through Kuwait, Germany, Iraq, and its everyday life stateside. I never leave my house without it, and it has never let me down. My CRKT has outlasted every other knife I have ever owned (KABAR included). I have beat it, dropped it, kicked it, and overall abused it through sand, water, dirt, rain, and grime for seven years. I even once had to use to cut the kevlar lambskin on my buddies vest off in Iraq, my CRKT even did that. I have never been so happy with a product, or a company in my life. I sadly just lost my knife two days ago and I am buying a new one on payday. I tell all my friends, family, and others that I have never owned, bought, purchased, or was given, a more reliable product than this.

This is the first knife of this type that I have purchased. I feel that it is everything that I read on it and what all the reviews that I read had to say on it. Thank you, Jim K

I bought this knife originally in 2005 and have carried everyday since. The edge on it has been sharpened so many times I've lost count and each time has taken an edge with no effort and held it longer than any other knife I've owned. I swear by this knife and would be lost without it. If I ever lose it I will undoubtedly buy a new one immediately. I will always rely on CRKT for my EDC knife in a military uniform.

Excellent knife Tight construction, smooth opening, weight and design feel great in the hand. The ridges on the flippers will eventually saw through my pants and they prevent carry in a downward position inside the pocket, but I very much like that they double as a handguard. The semi-rounded butt allows for a sturdy rear grip, offering a long slash and a very strong forward jab. The point of balance sits about 1/4in aft of the pivot screw, which suits me just fine. I've heard complaints about the AutoLawks mechanism, but you'll hear no such thing from me
