Favorite knife of all time. Got mine in Baghdad in 2004, and just in time, too... Holds an edge very well, and extremely versatile. There's something about the texture of the handles that is difficult to explain

This is a fantastically designed knife and very easy to use in the field. The handle is excellent the blade is razor sharp out of the box and overall I like the color and hope CRKT pushes more products that are in coyote tan. The knife is also big which is what I was looking for but not bulky or heavy. The safety locks take getting used to but worth the extra precaution. Almost cut Ky finger off as a kid poking at a tree with a folder since it didn't lock properly. Very easy to open without much effort . There are a ton of cheap knives out there that look pretty but you'll see this is well worth the money. I plan on buying a second in case they discontinue this model for some reason. Get it

This knife is extremely easy to open. The ball bearing system is very fast and smooth. It opens so fast that it seems like it is an assisted-opening knife. It isn't. It opens fast just with a pressure from your index finger and a slight flick of the wrist. Thankfully, there is no safety to fumble with when you want to open the knife. The 2 part safety keeps the knife from closing when you don't want it too.
The knife is solid and big but a lot lighter than I would expect. I found it to be so easy to carry in my pocket that I removed the gear clip.

This is a great knife. I had the m16-14z and this is studier, the only problem I had with the 14Z is that I damaged the handles after using it negligently as an ice breaker for several hours during an event at the Phoenix Zoo. The 14D has solid aluminum handle scales if that is the proper term and are fastened more securely. extra screws and carry clip with an allen wrench, worth the extra few dollars. I have pried doors open and cut through tree nursery pots so thick it took two people to push the blade, no bending or chipping, I have stabbed it through steel and cut wire with it. It will fit in your pocket unless you wear skinny jeans or slacks, then tuck it in your waist line. Buy this knife.
Great knife Looks good, razor sharp edge and surprising light. I didn't realize how large it was, it can fit into a pocket, but its a hoss. I love the quick opener on the back, not too crazy about the 2 part safety system. I own guns that don't have safety's but now I own a knife that does. Great knife, just draw out the length and width to see if its really the size you want (big knife).

Good field knife, bought two of them, one resides in the truck as an emergency knife, the other stays in the go bag for range, hunting, as needed. Good action, solid lock up, good edge that holds it's sharpness. NOT a pocket carry, unless you're wearing BDUs

Sleek looking, feels good in hand. Easy to operate and reliable. Only used it a few times so far, but each time has been stellar. Clean cut, incredibly sharp blade.

I got the Operation Iraqi Freedom verison of this knife about 4 years ago and have loved it ever since, holds a good edge and opens easy. The only thing I dont like about this knife is that the tip bent pretty easily, which isnt a big deal but justs bugs me when I look at it. Overall a great knife though, alittle big for EDC but great for use in the field and underway.
