M16-13ZM description
The service men and women of the coalition forces in the Middle East and Afghanistan require cutting tools that can stand up to the harsh demands of the desert. Our Carson Desert Tactical Folders have been developed specifically to blend into the desert environment.

Our M16®-13ZM Military model features our super rigid InterFrame build with 420J2 stainless steel liners, threaded stainless steel back spacers, and Desert Camo pattern glass filled nylon scales. The blade is non-reflective bead-blast finished AUS 4 stainless steel. It blends and almost disappears in the desert.

This model features a 3.50" (89 mm) spear point blade and weighs only 3.5 oz. (99 g). It is ideal when weight and bulk must be kept to a minimum. It comes with a removable clothing/gear clip.

It also features our exclusive patented* AutoLAWKS safety, which automatically turns the folder into a fixed blade when the blade is opened and locked.

One-hand opening and closing is quick and smooth, the result of precision tolerances and lubrous washers at the blade pivot. The dual ambidextrous thumb studs with checkered surfaces provide instant access in any circumstance.

The blade has Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point Serrated edges.

*U.S. Patent Nos. 5,596,808 and 7,437,822

I bought my first one three years ago. I had to send it back because it started to rust. The new one sent to me the blade has gotten stained over the last two years. I have called the company and they say that there is nothing they will do. I ask to buy a new blade but they said that they only sell complete knives not parts. Item Number: M16-13ZM George ***CRKT Response The blades are fitted to each individual knife handle to meet the highest engineering standard so we do not offer replacement blades for knives as a part. Rust can effect any stainless steel over time, oxidation can occur. We recommend that the blade be properly maintained with a light coating of oil.

This is my first legit knife and I am happy I made the right choice. It opens faster than any other folder my friends have, and it is light enough to clip on to my gym shorts without weighing me down (Im used to carrying a leatherman and it sucks) So its great to carry around. Its dang sharp, dang strong and dang sexy. I love it.

This knife was the first Kit Carson and the first CRKT knife I have ever bought. I cannot seem to keep it. I gave my first one to a special forces friend who fell in love with it. I replaced it for myself. I gave the second one to my sister who fell in love with it when she handle it and replaced it. I am now using the third one I have bought but I would not be surprised if this one gets given away too. :-)

Has this knife while deployed to Iraq. Still has dust in it and still works perfect. I was able to find the OIF collector version after a long search. great all around mid sized knife. Thank you, Steven OEF/OIF Veteran

Bought this at a yard sale not knowing what it was. Best knife I've ever owned and it won't be the the last CRKT I buy. It has an amazingly comfortable, stylish handle, opens faster and more smoothly than autos and has never gone dull despite being used on everything for over three years. I've never had a folder with a blade this solid.

I have had this knife for a few years now and love it. The blade has stayed nice and sharp. The lock still works great too.
