In the process of developing our line of Carson special forces G10 M16® models, it became apparent that there was a demand for these models from coalition forces serving in desert environments. These models have Desert Tan blade and scales.
The M16®-13DSFG Slim Profile G10 features a 3.50" (89 mm) dual grind Tanto blade and is ideal when weight and bulk must be kept to a minimum. It weighs only 4.0 ounces.
Just like it's black tactical counterpart, this knife shares a unique design offering a combination of Carson SF series features requested by military procurement specialists. It has a combined Razor-Sharp and patented (1) Veff™ Serrated edge. The open build allows two Carson Flippers to be incorporated, resulting in a true hilt up to now rare in folding knives.
Blade and scales are non-reflective Desert Tan. Premium 8Cr14 stainless steel blades receive titanium nitride coating for maximum corrosion resistance. Kit's trademark dual checkered thumb studs are standard. One-hand opening and closing is quick and smooth.
The open InterFrame build uses Desert Tan scales of G10, and stainless steel liners with friction grooves. G10 is often preferred for its aggressive gripping texture, light weight, and the insulating properties which make it cooler in heat and warmer in cold than metal.
The M16-13DSFG features our exclusive patented (2)AutoLAWKS™, the Lake and Walker Knife Safety innovation taken to the next level. AutoLAWKS™ automatically sets a pin between the locking liner and the frame. This pin acts as an additional layer of safety, so the locking liner is less likely to disengage during use. To close the knife, pull the AutoLAWKS™ red button lever back, slide the locking liner over, and fold the blade into the closed position.
All knives in this series are equipped with clip options that allow four-position carry on belts or webbing tip up, tip down, left or right. (Caution: These knives are not designed for tip-up in-pocket carry.)
They are special knives, designed by the military for special forces desert use.

I was looking for a smaller knife to carry not only for personal defense but also for everyday usage. I found this and decided to give it a shot, and I am very pleased. The quality is top notch and it has a very sturdy lock and it is easy to open. It also is low profile enough to fit in a pocket without being deliberately noticed. I would highly recommend this.

Great knife. Smaller than I expected, but I've carried the M16-14SFG for years so I'm use to bigger knives. I was under the impression that the blade was just smaller. This is a more reasonable size for a large EDC. I still prefer the 14 in my work pants, but the 13 doesn't produce as noticeable of a bulge in jeans as the 14. This was also m first Desert Tan knife. I don't like the blade color. The G10 handle looks great, but the blade has a gold hue. Almost wish I could swap a black blade into the tan handle. Overall it's a great knife and I'm happy with the money spent.

This is my 2nd CRKT. I was so impressed with the M16-01KZ I "needed" another knife. When it arrived I was surprised how large it is. I read the measurements before I ordered, but it is surprisingly more substantial than I was expecting. It came sharp and all the screws were tight. The larger flipper worked well with gloves at the range this morning as well. Excellent product.

I'm not going to lie I always thought crkt knives were crap until I picked up a m16 13sfg in the store. I have and had a lot of knives some 200 dollars plus. Crkt m16 gets it right where a lot of other companies fail. The m16 had no blade play, centered blade, great fit and finish and sharp. I paid lot more for other blades that suppose to be great but have plenty of blade play and weak locks. I believe crkt is truly underrated. Semper fi
