M16-13DSFG description
In the process of developing our line of Carson special forces G10 M16® models, it became apparent that there was a demand for these models from coalition forces serving in desert environments. These models have Desert Tan blade and scales.

The M16®-13DSFG Slim Profile G10 features a 3.50" (89 mm) dual grind Tanto blade and is ideal when weight and bulk must be kept to a minimum. It weighs only 4.0 ounces.

Just like it's black tactical counterpart, this knife shares a unique design offering a combination of Carson SF series features requested by military procurement specialists. It has a combined Razor-Sharp and patented (1) Veff Serrated edge. The open build allows two Carson Flippers to be incorporated, resulting in a true hilt— up to now rare in folding knives.

Blade and scales are non-reflective Desert Tan. Premium 8Cr14 stainless steel blades receive titanium nitride coating for maximum corrosion resistance. Kit's trademark dual checkered thumb studs are standard. One-hand opening and closing is quick and smooth.

The open InterFrame build uses Desert Tan scales of G10, and stainless steel liners with friction grooves. G10 is often preferred for its aggressive gripping texture, light weight, and the insulating properties which make it cooler in heat and warmer in cold than metal.

The M16-13DSFG features our exclusive patented (2) AutoLAWKS safety, which automatically turns the folder into a fixed blade when the blade is opened and locked.

All knives in this series are equipped with clip options that allow four-position carry on belts or webbing— tip up, tip down, left or right. (Caution: These knives are not designed for tip-up in-pocket carry.)

They are special knives, designed by the military for special forces desert use.

1. U.S. Patent No. D559,939 2. U.S. Patent Nos. 5,596,808 and 7,437,822

Excellent EDC knife. I have been a fan of CRKT for years and have used/carried many different models for work and professional purposes. This has to be my favorite design yet, so much so that I plan on ordering about 3 more for gifts to other professionals and a spare for me. You honestly cant go wrong with this in my opinion. Fantastic materials, build, feel, and dexterity. Opens itself up for a multitude of uses.

I purchased the M-16 folder 6 months ago. I did my homework and after all the searching decided to go with this knife because of the double-flippers, the desert nitride finish on the blade, and the Veff Serrations. Everything exceeded my expectations. Flippers work great

Rating 5 Exceptional piece. I have been a "knife guy" for over 40 years. Actually used one in combat during 3 infantry tours in Vietnam. The act was documented in 20M newspapers. Wish we would have had this one back then. Plus have over 15 years in Army SOF including "Delta" and other Special Mission Units. Love it. I have it in my personal survival kit and have used the same model in the past.Recommend it to everyone who needs a personal "survival tool". Thanks Buzz

I purchased two, one for my son and myself. We both currently are in Afghanistan which my son was on a patrol and ambushed. During the altercation a local young boy was shot. My son removed his gear to retrieve the young boy and used the knife to strip his clothing and administer first aid as well as fend off a insurgent. He received a medal of valor and thanks to a top notch knife saved a young boys life as well as his own. Thanks for a great product. ****CRKT Response - Thank you for you and your son's service and thank you for sharing your story for all. CRKT

As with any CRKT knife, the quality is outstanding. Although the blade is a little small, it has the high quality edge to accomplish most any task, and if one of my EDC knives. The Veff serrations really set this one apart and it is large enough to use as a defensive tool as well as every day tasks. 2011-09-16 Bob Joyce Prosperity, S.C.

After thorough research of all the popular folders I chose the CRKT M16 Special Forces because it is the best folder on the planet period. While I made my purchase I noticed that the designer is a retired professional soldier this didn’t surprise me because the M16 SF is the best tool for any job from its tanto blade to the veff serrations every aspect has been carefully thought out. Not only does the M16 SF protect the fingers using the flipper hilts but also can be opened with the index finger within seconds in the hands of a professional soldier or law enforcement. Did I mention it also has an autoLAWKS locking mechanism making this the most user safe high speed folder on the planet. Needless to say I am happy with my purchase. Alex- 101st Airborne US Army

I am an LE knife tactics instructor in Colorado. I recently purchased this item and am very happy with it. The deployment options are great and the additional locking measures are great. Good quality knife that.
