We have produced Kit Carson's popular M16® line in many variations over the past decade. Our glass filled nylon version has built the largest user base of all. These knives are built for function, not fad, and they are exceptional values.
Our new M16 ZLEK line uses our very successful InterFrame construction, with tough, textured glass filled nylon scales over a 420J2 stainless steel liner InterFrame and solid glass filled nylon back spacers. We assemble the handle with superior offset Torx® fasteners.
For professional use, we've added a seat belt cutter to the Carson Flipper, and a tungsten carbide window breaker at the butt. Automobile side windows shatter with one quick whack from the butt of the knife.
All components receive a tough tactical black coating. The Flipper can be pressed for fast one-hand opening, and creates a blade guard when open. We use our premium AUS 8 high-carbon stainless steel for the blades, which have Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point™ Serrated edges to easily cut rope, cord, canvas, and vegetation.
All three models are fitted with our exclusive patented* AutoLAWKS™, the Lake and Walker Knife Safety innovation taken to the next level. AutoLAWKS™ automatically sets a pin between the locking liner and the frame. This pin acts as an additional layer of safety, so the locking liner is less likely to disengage during use. To close the knife, pull the AutoLAWKS™ red button lever back, slide the locking liner over, and fold the blade into the closed position.
M16®-12ZLEK. This is our smaller Tanto-blade version. The very strong blade grind makes a compact and versatile rescue folder. A black stainless steel two-position pocket/gear clip is included.
Full professional features. Non-reflective black finish. Exceptional affordability.

This is my everyday carry knife. I love the feel of it

This knife has exceeded my expectations time and time again. Excellent retention in sharpness, durable like a juggernaut, and the additional safety tools (belt cutter/window breaker) are perfectly functional when needed in an emergency. I am completely impressed by this knife as I have never had anything else like it. Great feel, balance, security, and highly recommended.

Military/EMT/Outdoorsman. Could never have imagined a better EDC knife. Perfect size to fit in your pocket, perfect functionality combining tanto/serrated/seatbelt cutter/windshield breaker. This blade goes everywhere I go. I will never buy another EDC knife again.

I have carried a CRKT (ABC Operator) for years while in the military and in Iraq, but this is the first folding knife I have purchased. This knife seems exceptionally made. I didn't want something bulky although this one is almost too little for my smaller hands. I love the flipper as it provides the same quick deploy as assisted knives without the concerns. I just received a Lone Wolf (Benchmade) as a gift. I do prefer the Lone Wolf button lock versus the AutoLAWKS lever. A thumb groove in place of the lever would improve ergonomics and I find a one handed close easier with the button lock. That being said, while the Lone Wolf is a fancier knife with a more ergonomic feel, the M16 will be my daily carry due to size, features, and apparent durability. You can't go wrong with this knife.
