Launce Barber and Tom Stokes designed the patented* Lumabiner™ as part of our innovative I.D. Works™ line of tools. It's a cool and organic shape that combines a knife and flashlight into a handy carabiner package.
The useful little 1.625" drop point high-carbon steel knife blade with a Razor-Sharp cutting edge can be quickly opened with either hand using one of the dual ramped thumb studs.
Just press the little black button and it's a powerful LED flashlight that is always ready when you need it.
You can pack the Lumabiner on belt loops or D-rings with the carry carabiner (which is non-weight-bearing).
Just press the detent to lock the carabiner closed, and it will be sure to stay wherever you fasten it.
The Lumabiner is so small it's cast aluminum body can fit in the palm of your hand. Carry it in your pocket, purse or briefcase.
Oh, yes. It's also a secure little key ring fob to help you keep everything together.
*U.S. Patent Nos. D584,437 and 6,223,372. Carabiner is non-weight-bearing.

I just purchased two of the stainless Lumabiner knives. It is a great concept, a great design, and a sharp knife. There is one very large problems. It is very difficult to open the knife. The knifes mechanism is so tight that I had to use a pair of pliers to open. I can open with one thumb, but it is so hard to do that it takes skin off the tips of the thumb...Ouuuchhhh..... It may be in the manufacturing of the product since it is made in China, but none the less, it is very difficult to open. I called customer service and they suggested loosening the pivot screw that hinges the knife. I did just that, but that made no difference in how it functioned. Also, this rating system is "rigged"... It would not allow me to give the knife less than 4 stars.... Shame on CRKT I give it one star...

Great device. I use it to clip my id badge to my person while at work. Didn't even realize it has a small light on it as well. Only disappointment is that it seems like they could have made a small design change that would include a notch for a bottle opener.
The clasp has a small locking switch which vie had no problem with, however the clasp, itself, appears to be made of a different material than the rest of the knife housing. Hopefully it will suffer from abuse, but it feels like the most fragile part of the knife.
Well worth the purchase.

I got this knife as a gift for my Dad for Father's day. Haven't given it to him yet but I think he will like how it folds and clips onto his belt. Seems great for always having by your side. Might get one for myself too.
