Tualatin, Oregon, U.S.A.— January 15, 2009

Named after the Egyptian lord of the sky, Allen Elishewitz’s edgy

CRKT® Horus™ folder is all facets, reminiscent of today’s lord of the

sky, the stealth fighter.

Horus is familiar to Egyptologists as the hawk-headed god, lord of the sky. As Canyon

Lake, Texas, knifemaker Allen Elishewitz developed this new design for Columbia River

Knife & Tool® (CRKT®), similar in many ways to his larger custom Creedmore, we saw

an aggressive hawk-like character in its crisp edges, facets and choils, hence the Horus™

name. It reminds us of an F-117 stealth fighter, too.

This is much more than an Elishewitz design statement, even though it is a piece that grabs

your attention immediately. It’s a very functional every day carry with the patented features

that have made CRKT folders so popular, including OutBurst™ assisted opening1 and the

LAWKS® safety2.

The Horus frame features an unusual choiled pistol-grip curve. The stainless steel

InterFrame build has one locking liner and sculpted black textured Zytel® scales. The wild

honey gold variegated inlays are the latest CPL composite, like that used in modern bowling

balls. Injection molding makes each one unique.

The blade is AUS 8 premium stainless steel in a bead-blast finish. We call it an “Elishewitz

stealth grind” because it is composed almost entirely of flat angular facets. The result is a very

strong blade with a strong central spine which extends very near to the tip. It is available in

both Razor-Sharp and Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point™ Serrated edge models.

Of course, this design demands our patented OutBurst™ assisted opening mechanism, which

instantly springs the blade fully open after you have opened the blade approximately 30

degrees. The OutBurst mechanism can be removed to allow fast, conventional one-hand

opening using the custom Elishewitz ramped thumb stud, depending on your preference or

local ordinances.

In addition, our patented LAWKS® safety effectively converts your folder into a virtual

fixed blade when actuated. Just slide the lever forward to lock, and slide it back to enable easy

one-hand closing.

Typical of all CRKT Elishewitz folders, you get a gold Elishewitz logo on the blade and a

custom removable stainless steel pocket/gear clip.

The Elishewitz Horus makes a strong statement, and it will certainly spark a conversation

among your knife-fancier friends. But then, the lord of the sky has never been shy, either.

Manufacturer’s suggested list price for the Horus is $79.99.
