Our new Flux™ modular tool system is another creative design by Launce Barber and

Tom Stokes as a part of our I.D. Works® tool family. It is a lightweight, high-tech system

designed for people with active outdoor lifestyles.

This exciting new system was named the 2009 Most Innovative Imported Design at the

Blade Show in Atlanta, Georgia, when it was first displayed in May of 2009.

At the core of the Flux system is the lightweight aluminum carabiner chassis which

allows tools to be quickly selected, attached, and clipped on clothing and gear. Two

chassis are available; one with dual rails which will hold any two Flux tools, and one

with a single rail which provides a carabiner for any single Flux tool. Note: Flux

The first five Flux tool components are the Flux Knife, Flux Driver, Flux Wine Tool,

Flux L.E.D. Light, and Flux Flash Drive. Additional components are planned for the

future. All components can be stored and carried in the zippered nylon Flux Pack Case.

All five tools use Zytel® and stainless steel construction, and have a modular handle

length of 3.35” (85 mm).

Flux™ Knife. This is a lightweight locking liner folder with stainless steel InterFrame

build and a 2.25” (57 mm) Razor-Sharp clip point high-carbon stainless steel blade in a

bead-blast finish. The blade can be easily opened with one hand using the ambidextrous

thumb disk. The knife also has a removable stainless steel pocket clip. MSRP is $29.99.

Flux™ Driver. This hex driver functions as a standard screwdriver and as a T-handle

driver, depending on where the bit extension adapter is placed. It includes three hex bits

(one Phillips, two flat) which each have small ball detents to hold them securely in the

driver handle until needed. The Driver’s utility is enhanced by a small L.E.D. work light

near the tip to light the work space. MSRP is $26.99.

Flux™ Wine Tool. This is a sommelier’s tool which includes a corkscrew, foil knife

with a serrated hawksbill blade, and a bottle opener. While small and lightweight, the

Wine Tool comes in very handy opening your favorite beverage. MSRP is $26.99.

Flux™ L.E.D. Light. This is a small but powerful L.E.D. flashlight with dual L.E.D.’s.

Press the button once to light a single L.E.D.; press it twice to light both L.E.D.’s for

maximum light. A stainless steel pocket/gear clip allows the Light to be attached to the

bill of a cap, very useful when hiking at night or searching for firewood. MSRP is $26.99.

Flux™ Flash Drive. Everyone today needs a flash drive to transfer files. Just press the

button on the Flash Drive holder, and the 2 GB Micro SD™ USB Flash Drive flips out for

instant use. There is also a small storage compartment in the handle which will hold extra

memory cards. MSRP is #39.99.

Using the Flux system, the lightweight tools are easy to select and carry for any

activity. Just “pick and click” the tool you need.
