Our goal in producing this new folder is to combine all of our recent technological advances in one heavy-duty tactical folder. We call it the Fire Spark™, and it is primarily intended for law enforcement and military professionals, although it also makes a fine general-purpose sport and work folder for those who want to carry a large knife.
The innovative construction starts with our rigid InterFrame build with stainless steel liners, one locking. We add 6061 aluminum scales, which are CNC machined to receive black textured G10 inlays. The handle is a full 4.75" long to be comfortable for those with large hands, or when wearing gloves, and features four finger choils to give optimum grip. The cross section is flat enough for in-pocket carry. Finally, there is a strong stainless steel back spacer that extends to the butt, which culminates in a "skull cracker" pointed tip. The back spacer is relieved to allow a double lanyard loop to be cut in the stainless steel liners.
The blade on the Fire Spark is a modified tactical spear point design with a Razor-Sharp edge, high hollow grind and swedged top edge for penetration. Blade steel is premium 8Cr14MoV stainless steel.
The sport model 1050 has a high satin blade finish, silver anodized frames, and polished three-position stainless steel clip.
We have combined our OutBurst® assisted opening with our patent-pending1 Fire Safe™ mechanism. When closed, the blade is safely locked by the Fire Safe pin. It cannot be opened until the thumb stud is firmly pressed and nudged outward. Then the blade springs open instantly for use. The system assures fast opening action even in cold weather and when wearing gloves.
Finally, to maintain lockup in high-stress situations, we've incorporated the patented2 LAWKS® safety, which effectively converts the folder into a virtual fixed blade when the LAWKS lever is pressed forward.
The Fire Spark is the most fully featured tactical folder we have ever offered, and it is also a great value.

This is a beautiful quality knife, razor sharp, tight and opens quickly. With its thin design it fits comfortable in my pocket. And this in not a small knife. Well don and my respect to those who design this one.

The Fire Spark is a hefty knife that fits well to my hands; the finger grooves assure a secure grasp. It's a keeper. The Fire Spark OutBurst Assist is designed as a ôright handed knife", but I want a knife, other than a flipper opener, with which I can be ambidextrous. It took me three weeks before I opened the Fire Spark for the first time with my left forefinger and another week before I established the muscle memory of my left hand's forefinger. It's a subtle action in contrast to the right hand thumb engaging the OutBurst assist. Place the left forefinger (where the nail cutting edge begins) in contact with thumb stud and, with slight pressure, extend finger (nudge) the stud approx. 30°. Simple when you've performed the action twice. The Fire Spark is sharp out of the box: Be wary.

I have had the Fire Spark for a few weeks now. I use it at least 5 to 7 times a week. I love the sharpness of the blade right out of the box. The Outburst blade assist took a little getting used to I think its great. From time to time I have a little trouble with the safety lock but I think it just has to do with how I hold the knife and gravity. It's all good now it's a GREAT folding knife.

Can't say enough about this knife, this is probly my 10th CRKT and it does NOT dissapoint.
The build is very tight on this bad boy, little loc-tite on all the screws and some lube and this is a very FIRM lock up, no blade play at all, less than my NOTORIOUS, and that is my favorite.
the handle is shaped very well, reminds me of some of SWs handle styles, except much better executed polished G-10 is glamorous but not slick and able to get hot spots. LAWKS, also works just fine on the models i have too.
The blade, while being a spear point (not my favorite, just PO) is long, graceful and FREAKING SHARP, able to be resharpened over and over too without effort. cuts through everything easily, food, rope, paper etc, except for wood haha. Thanks CRKT, still my favorite, knives for men

I really like this knife. The quality of the materials, fit and finish is well made. It takes a little practice opening the knife. It is now my everyday carry knife.
