If you were a delegate to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in 1787, you would feel right at home with our new line of gentleman's folders, so we're calling it the Delegate^™ line. Classic knife making tradition comes through in their understated design and use of natural materials.

But like the Founding Fathers, there is a revolutionary aspect to this line. We have incorporated our OutBurst^® assist with our patent-pending* Fire Safe^™ release mechanism which is built into the thumb stud.

When the blade is closed, it is securely held in place by the OutBurst spring bias, and is also locked in place by the Fire Safe pin in the locking liner, which engages the blade.

To open the blade, simply press in on the Fire Safe thumb stud, and rotate it forward to begin blade opening. Once the blade is open approximately 30 degrees, the OutBurst assist takes over and instantly completes the opening action. In practice, one-handed opening is a fast, single movement of the thumb.

This system provides exceptional safety because it is very difficult, if not impossible, to open the blade accidentally. Bumping or pressing the thumb stud does nothing. The user must know the secret rotating action to open the blade.

Delegate^™ EDC 1055W. This larger Delegate model has a 3.125" drop point blade of premium 8Cr14MoV stainless steel. Our rigid InterFrame build uses stainless steel liners, one locking, with black anodized 6061 aluminum bolsters and inlaid scales. The dark model 1055W has a black oxide-coated blade with cocobolo wood scales. It features a high-mounted stainless steel clip.

This is a very good looking knife however I do not recommend it. The safety feature on the assist mechanism requires a lot of pressure to open (fire safe mechanism is faulty). Most of the time , my thumb ends up on the cutting edge of the blade. Do not purchase if you intend it for daily use.

Very nice knife. But, will be sending it back as I can not open. Must place extreme force on button to open. Button is opt of adjustment.

My favorite of all my CRKT knives.I carry it daily and seems to hold a quality edge even when not sharpened regularly,opens quickly and is just the right size.

I liked everything about it until I tried to open it. It is all I can do to press the button hard enough to disengage the "Fire Safe" lock pin and that's enough pressure to keep the OutBurst from activating the blade. I hope it is a mater of adjustment, lubrication didn't seem to make a difference. if the frame lock wasn't so strong it seems like it could work well. Mort

I like the feel of the blade plus it's good and sharp, It opens good for the style. this is a good design. But I like the Auto open type cause my hands and arms are bad because of the injuries I have.

The delegate edc is very comfortable in my hand but the out burst button is a little harder than I expected. All in all it is my everyday carry pocket knife.

Disappointing. One of the cocobolo wood scales is noticeably damaged along the edge and on the body of the piece. And this was the larger of the two Delegates.
