Pat and Wes Crawford, custom knifemakers in West Memphis, Arkansas, have produced many successful folder designs for CRKT over the years, many with mid-level blade steels and glass filled nylon scales. Here's our new idea: let's make a Crawford folder series that is as close to a custom knife as possible, using premium blade steel and natural materials.
Logically, we decided to call it the Natural™ series. These are extremely heavy-duty frame-lock folders with our patented* lightning-fast OutBurst™ assisted opening.
At 10.4 ounces, The Natural™ 7085 is a big hunk of knife, with a 3.88" blade of premium 8Cr13MoV polished stainless steel and stainless steel liners so thick that it qualifies as a frame-lock folder. The blade can only be called a "Crawford Marauder clip point," with a scalloped top edge and dual ramped Crawford-style thumb studs for opening. Just nudge either thumb stud outward approximately 30°, and the OutBurst mechanism springs the blade open with a satisfying "click."
The stainless steel back spacer receives file work like the finest customs. And the scales are hand-shaped white bone with black G10 bolsters and a removable satin stainless steel pocket/gear clip. When it comes to grip, this folder has it all: a full-size handle, butt pommel, two deep finger choils and thumb friction grooves on the spine.
So here's our bet: If you were walking through a custom knife show, and you picked up The Natural without the CRKT logo, you would think, "Wow, a Crawford custom!" And except for the value price, you'd be pretty darned close.
What a beautiful piece of crap First off it is made in Taiwan which isn't marked on the knife anywhere, only the box. Second the blade was loose. It wobbled side to side. I have tightened it and it just loosens up again. Third the thumb stud has fallen off. Fourth the pocket clip is about to fall off as well. I use my knifes as a tool for work and have stopped carrying it because it feels like it will fall apart. I see why it has been discontinued. Will never buy another CRKT knife again. If your going to make cheap junk at least stamp imported on it so people will know. ****CRKT RESPONSE - Benjamin - Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate hearing from you. All CRKT knives are currently made in China and Taiwan (except for one, the USA Made M16-04A) and country of origin is clearly printed on each box in accordance with the law. Sorry to hear that you knife is not working to expectation. We'll have customer service reach out to now to see if we can help resolve the issue. Thanks again for your feedback, CRKT

If you like the picture, it looks even better in person, really stylin. The bone handle discolors a little with use but in a way where it looks better: the textures in the bone come out. Excellent grip. Sturdy build, seems like it could live through a war. It's huge but comfortable to carry with the pocket clip. The extra size weight are a plus if you're a big tall guy like me, feels like it was made for me.
When mine came it was absurdly hard to open, not the usual needs-breaking-in. I had to push the stud hard enough for my hand to shake and it would still sometimes not open. I contacted the warranty dept and sent it back. Long wait for it to return but very good honest communication from CRKT guy. Now it snaps open smoother than any knife I've had or even seen, closes that way 2
