Say "A.G. Russell," and you have to immediately say "first," because this living legend was one of the inventors of the modern knife industry. But despite all his awards and achievements, A.G. is first of all a knifemaker. The CRKT production Sting^™, complete with a custom high-strength nylon fabric/glass filled nylon sheath, is a multipurpose one-piece utility knife that is just about indestructible.

Hot forging is the reason the Sting is so tough. It begins life as an ordinary blank of 1050 carbon steel, similar to the alloy used in traditional Samurai swords, which is first hot forged and then precision ground into final shape. We apply a black non-reflective powder coat finish to resist corrosion.

The spear point blade features two Razor-Sharp cutting edges. The integral handle is contoured to fit the bare or gloved hand nicely and provides heft and balance, with thumb detents for grip. A large lanyard hole is provided, allowing the use of a wrist lanyard, or carry as a neck knife.

Like A.G. Russell himself, the Sting is a tough character that has earned its respect.

Just got the knife.. Nice, but they really should consider a non-slip grip.

I bought this knife to attach to my belt with a sideways mount. it is working great and is easy to pull. The handle was a bit slippery to my grip so i wrapped it with athletic tape.

The sting would be a great knife for a person with little hands...it didn't fit mine at all. It'll make a great gift though...

Very sleek. Very solid. I like how it feels in my hand. If I were to have made a knife, this would be the one. It is more like a miniature bayonet. Thanks Mr. Russel

A great. solid, sharp backup knife (although I did have to to some final polishing on receipt). I've already rigged it for neck, underarm, forearm an ankle carry. I could do without all that velcro on the back, just leave a simple belt loop at top and a couple rivet holes for a lanyard at the bottom. Well worth the price and one I'll carry a lot.

if you should be seeking a boot/ankle knife this has the respect of a old well known maker and is a fantastic blade.

I bought this knife for my daughter to wear on her thigh when she ran. Overall the quality is outstanding. The weight and balance are good. The retention in the sheath is very secure. My only complaint is-the straps are not very long, only would fit a forearm or lower leg.
