Say "A.G. Russell," and you have to immediately say "first," because this living legend was one of the inventors of the modern knife industry. But despite all his awards and achievements, A.G. is first of all a knifemaker. The CRKT production Sting^™, complete with a custom high-strength nylon fabric/glass filled nylon sheath, is a multipurpose one-piece utility knife that is just about indestructible.

Hot forging is the reason the Sting is so tough. It begins life as an ordinary blank of 1050 carbon steel, similar to the alloy used in traditional Samurai swords, which is first hot forged and then precision ground into final shape. We apply a black non-reflective powder coat finish to resist corrosion.

The spear point blade features two Razor-Sharp cutting edges. The integral handle is contoured to fit the bare or gloved hand nicely and provides heft and balance, with thumb detents for grip. A large lanyard hole is provided, allowing the use of a wrist lanyard, or carry as a neck knife.

Like A.G. Russell himself, the Sting is a tough character that has earned its respect.

Very sleek. Very solid. I like how it feels in my hand. If I were to have made a knife, this would be the one. It is more like a miniature bayonet. Thanks Mr. Russel

A great. solid, sharp backup knife (although I did have to to some final polishing on receipt). I've already rigged it for neck, underarm, forearm an ankle carry. I could do without all that velcro on the back, just leave a simple belt loop at top and a couple rivet holes for a lanyard at the bottom. Well worth the price and one I'll carry a lot.

if you should be seeking a boot/ankle knife this has the respect of a old well known maker and is a fantastic blade.

I bought this knife for my daughter to wear on her thigh when she ran. Overall the quality is outstanding. The weight and balance are good. The retention in the sheath is very secure. My only complaint is-the straps are not very long, only would fit a forearm or lower leg.

I can not say enough good about the knife. It came sharp enough to perform surgery, is easy to hold, and fits the hand well. The sheath itself is ok, with a fairly positive hold. The attachment straps leave a LOT to be desired. I do not like an arm or ankle carry, I'd much prefer a simple boot/belt clip so I could carry inside my waistband, the system it uses now is MUCH TOO BULKY.

I want to say that this knife is about as breakable as a rock and as flimsy as a steel bar. It is soooooooooo awesome It is a perfect hiking knife.

What a great knife. The beautiful complexion of the cold black solid steel. Has a nice weight to it. The sheath was designed with precision with a great tactical look. For anyone who thinks this is a throwing knife it is not, although with practice it can be achieved. All in all a must BUY

Its a great knife. I am very happy with the purchase. I do think however that the blade was a little dull when I had gotten it. Other than that it is a great knife.
